Love it or hate it, either way social media is one of the biggest tools for success, communication and entertainment. It is the creator of opportunities, the freedom to express creativity and thoughts, it supports charities and helps keep you up to date with local news. We now live in a world that is fully reliant on the internet and social media and many of us are guilty for the daily endless scrolling.
We can safely say that social media has helped us over the last two years to connect with our loved ones which we were unable to see, it helped us keep fit with Joe Wicks!, it helped us cook banana bread and various new recipes.
As well as connecting with loved ones and trying new activities it has also helped smaller businesses keep their marketing going during a time they were not able to open, 81% of small businesses use at least one social media platform to stay connected with existing and future customers. It’s helped people find jobs when they may have lost theirs due to the pandemic.
The first social network was created in 1997 which was called Six Degrees. This was a network that users were able to upload photos and connect with others for the first time, can you imagine how amazing that would have been! Facebook followed 7 years later which is now being used by 65.9% of the entire UK Population.
As a company, we rely on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram for marketing and connecting candidates to their perfect careers. Social Media is a great way to expand your recruiting pool because its personal and most people use social media everyday with the average person spending 3 hours each day on social media.
We would love you all to honour the advantages and joys of Social Media with us, follow our Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram pages and join us by snapping, posting and tagging!
