National Apprenticeship Week

Why Apprenticeships?

Apprenticeships are a way to gain the skills, experience and knowledge that you need to go into many careers. Apprenticeships combine training, work and study. This means that you will be able to "earn while you learn". Bethany started as an apprentice with Busy Bee Recruitment 4 years ago and in that time has grown and flourished into our Finance Administrator.

Bethanys Apprentice Experience...

Something about Bethany:

Bethany studied her Level 2 NVQ in Business Administration at Cambridge Regional College. Bethany joined the business as our Business Administration Apprentice and has worked hard during her time here to also study her AAT Qualification while furthering her skills and experience in Accountancy. Moving over to our Accounts department Bethany supports the business with invoicing, credit control, forecasting and budgeting. Bethany works with the highest levels of accuracy and is also the main point of contact for our temporary worker payroll on a weekly basis.

We asked Bethany a few questions about being an Apprentice:

How was your first week at Busy Bee Recruitment? My first week was amazing, I settled in super quickly and loved my role in the company! I picked things up fast and my confidence grew.

Why did you apply for an apprenticeship? I loved the idea of gaining an additional qualification alongside starting a career. It gave me a further understanding of how businesses work. On top of that, I was eager to learn new things and expand my knowledge.

What does an apprenticeship mean to you? It was a fantastic opportunity to study and gain experience on the job at the same time. It benefited me as I wanted to kick start my career.

Were you nervous to start an apprenticeship? I was nervous and excited at the same time; Its always daunting starting something new!

As you can see being an Apprentice is no different, except you get to “earn while you learn”. Recruiting Apprentices for your business can have such a positive impact, not only on the Apprentice but also on your staff and your business. Bethany will have now been with the company for 4 years and has moved into a Finance Administration role within Busy Bee.
