Managing your staff’s mental health when working remotely
Written by KayleighMany of our work lives have changed since the start of Covid-19. Working remotely has now become the new normal however this new and sudden change can create a knock-on effect to our mental health.
There are some of us who have been able to attend the workplace throughout the pandemic however many have had to adapt to remote working. Due to this big change a challenge arises in looking after your employee’s mental health.
We want to make sure that both employers and employees mental health is protected as much as possible during these unprecedented times. Below we have added some of our top tips to help guide you through the current situation:
- Check in with your team regularly: Talk with them on a daily or regular basis both formally and informally to ensure things are running smoothly and any issues or questions are dealt with.
- Share a Wellness Action Plan: Share with your team a monthly wellness plan to help them deal with working remotely and dealing with the changes. You can find a Wellness Plan via the Mind website.
- Promote support: Be sure to share with your employees where they can go for help and who they can speak with regarding any issues they may be facing.
- Take advantage of technology: Promote the use of technology to your workforce. Skype, WhatsApp and Zoom are all great ways to keep everyone in touch.
