National Careers Week (NCW) is a week which is held annually on Monday 2nd March - Friday 6th March! It's a week to promote pupils getting careers and giving them good advice and setting them up for the working world.

We asked Rachel Housden, Senior Commercial Recruitment Consultant some questions about her career and the recruitment industry:

1 – What do you love most about your job? Building relationships with my clients and supporting candidates. I love the sense of achievement when I have found candidates their dream jobs.

2 – What attracted you to work in the recruitment industry? Having come from a customer service background I like the fact that I can still help and speak to lots of different people on a daily basis.

3 – What advice would you give to your clients who are looking to recruit school leavers? School leavers can bring a lot to your business including; new skills, a willingness to learn and a modern day feel. Make sure you give them the best training possible and offer good benefits. This is what will attract school leavers as they see this is an opportunity for growth and extra leaning.

4 – What advice would you give to candidates who are studying whilst working? Make a study plan and stick to it. Don't panic and take your time. If you are stuck, never be afraid to ask for help - a second pair of eyes is always good and they might see misitakes that you can't.
