Job Duties:

• Produce accurate, high-quality 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

• Take ownership of design projects from concept through to completion, working closely with sales, production, and other internal teams.

• Design complex components and tooling, sharing knowledge and supporting junior members of the CAD team.

• Amend, update, and maintain drawings within the drawing management system.

• Translate customer briefs into effective, cost-efficient design solutions in collaboration with the sales and business development teams.

• Generate approval and production drawings and support the processing of orders through the business.

• Plan manufacturing steps and prepare associated technical documentation.

• Work closely with production to ensure drawings are correct, clear, and fit for manufacture.

• Monitor assigned projects and orders to ensure customer expectations, timelines, and profitability targets are met.

• Contribute to the development of new products, tooling, and design improvements.

• Drive continuous improvement by recommending and implementing more efficient ways of working.

• Support and mentor Junior Design Engineers.

What we are looking for:

• Extensive experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create 3D models and detailed technical drawings.

• A qualification in Design or Engineering (A Level, BTEC, Apprenticeship, or Degree).

• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment (desirable).

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

• A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with the ability to support and coach colleagues.

• Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving and planning skills.
