Average 41.25 hours per week on 4-week rota basis, Monday to Friday working 1 in 4 Saturdays. Week 1 week 6am to 3pm and 5am to 9am on a Saturday and 7am to 4pm for the other 3 weeks.

Are you someone with people management skills, and experience managing teams in a manufacturing environment? We are looking for an experience individual from a Manufacturing background and ideally holding a Level 2 City and Guilds qualification in MIG Welding or an equivalent qualification to join our partnered client. You will be managing a skilled team of Welder/Fabricators and assembly operatives.

Job Duties:

• Undertake near miss and accident investigations to understand root causes, recommending and implementing improvements to reduce the risk of recurrence

• Monitor and observe employees ensuring safe working practices and being followed and correct PPE is being worn

• Promote a positive health and safety culture

• Plan and organise your team, prioritising work where needed to meet business and customer expectations and communicating any delays to office teams

• Manage productivity rate and product standards ensuring you liaise with quality team if any concerns.

• Use data to manage capacity and prioritise workload.

• Maintain adequate stock levels

• Assist with reviewing CV’s and holding interviews

• Undertake first day inductions with new starters

• Carry out team appraisal, 1-2-1s, performance reviews, identifying top performers, managing bad performers

What we are looking for:

• Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment essential. Experience within concrete production is desirable.

• Previous management/supervisory experience essential

• Experience with drawings and managing production schedules

• Level 2 city and guilds in MIG desirable but you must be happy to attend the relevant course to gain the qualification

• Strong understanding of health and safety in a workplace

• You must have a pro-active approach and comfortable in offering continuous improvement ideas

• Strong communication skills

• Strong attention to detail
