Are you looking to break into the engineering sector? My client, based in St Ives, is seeking a motivated and hands-on Workshop Assistant to join their skilled welding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the beginning of their engineering journey or with some initial experience in mechanical assembly or workshop support.

We are looking for candidates who have a keen eye for detail, good manual dexterity and a willingness to grow and develop.

Job Duties:

• Perform tasks associated with pre and post welding duties

• Preparing of steel tubes

• Deburring, degreasing and buffing of finished welds

• Weld cleaning

• Bagging finished assemblies and labelling ready for despatch to customers

• Perform general workshop duties as required

• Keep work areas clean and tidy.

• After training and probation period you will be trained on:

o Tube bending

o Compression fitting

o Final assembly

o Testing of final assembly

o Visual inspection of completed assembly

What we are looking for:

• A keen eye for detail

• Good manual dexterity

• Previous experience within mechanical assembly, a workshop environment or a keen interest in engineering with a completed qualification such as a BTEC in engineering.

• Able to work as part of a close knit team.

• Keen to learn and develop new skills

• Reliable
