Are you a hands-on safety champion with a construction site background? We’re looking for a Regional SHEQ Manager to support teams across Castleford, Cumbernauld, Newcastle, and beyond. You’ll be the go-to for operations, driving health, safety, environment, and quality standards, coaching teams, and making a real impact on the ground.

If you’ve got a NEBOSH qualification, strong auditing experience, and a proactive, people-focused approach, this is your chance to lead, influence, and make work safer every day.

Job Duties:

• Provide day-to-day SHEQ guidance and support to regional operations teams.

• Act as a “critical friend” to managers, promoting best practices in safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

• Be visible on-site, supporting frontline colleagues to work safely.

• Lead SHEQ communication, training, and sharing of standards across the region.

• Support audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with legislation and internal standards.

• Help drive continuous improvement and support certification to ISO and other schemes.

• Investigate incidents, promote prevention, and coach teams on safe practices.

• Advise leaders on soft skills and behaviours needed to deliver a strong safety culture.

• Ensure all statutory SHEQ requirements, training, and reporting are met.

• Undertake other SHEQ-related tasks as required.

What we are looking for:

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar SHEQ role.

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate.

• Member of a recognised body (IOSH, ISSRM, IOB).

• Experience in audits, site inspections, and risk assessments.

• Good knowledge of health, safety, and environmental laws.

• Background in construction sites or operational teams.

• Strong communication and coaching skills.

• Able to work independently and manage priorities.

Desirable:

• NEBOSH Fire Certificate or fire risk assessor qualification.

• Internal auditor qualification.

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.

• Environmental qualification (NEBOSH, IEMA).

• Knowledge of quality management systems.

• Experience delivering training.

• Mental Health First Aid qualification.
