We’re working with our client, a well-established sheet metal fabrication company, to find a reliable and hardworking Production Operative to join their manufacturing team. This is a hands-on position where you’ll play an essential role in supporting the smooth running of production processes and ensuring high-quality metal components are fabricated on time.

Your day-to-day duties will include operating machinery, assisting with sheet metal cutting, folding, and assembly, handling materials safely, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace. You’ll also support quality checks, help prepare products for dispatch, and work closely with team leaders to meet daily production targets.

Duties will include:

• Assist in the fabrication of sheet metal components using machinery such as press brakes, guillotines, and laser cutters (training provided where necessary).

• Load and unload materials safely, moving components between workstations.

• Follow job sheets and engineering drawings to ensure work is completed accurately.

• Conduct visual inspections and report any defects or quality issues.

• Assist with assembly, finishing, and packing of completed products ready for delivery.

• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe production area in line with company standards.

Key skills and attributes required:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or sheet metal environment is advantageous but not essential.

• A proactive and reliable team player with a strong work ethic.

• Ability to follow instructions and work accurately to production targets.

• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.

• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn new skills.
