Looking for a hands-on role where you can work outdoors, stay active and make a difference to animal welfare?
Join a well-established poultry business in Woodbridge, where you’ll be part of a hardworking team responsible for safely and carefully handling poultry. This is a physical, hands-on role where no two days are quite the same! You’ll help ensure birds are handled with care, welfare standards are maintained and all work is carried out safely and efficiently. If you’re physically fit, reliable and have a calm approach to working with animals, this could be the opportunity for you!
You’ll be working as part of a team to catch and handle poultry safely, following established procedures and maintaining high standards of animal welfare throughout the process. You’ll ensure farm biosecurity rules are followed, stick to health and safety guidelines and work closely with your team leader to get the job done efficiently. Duties may also include driving when required, supporting general poultry farming tasks and carrying out culling when necessary. Full training will be provided, so you’ll have the opportunity to learn the role and develop your skills as you go!
· A calm, friendly and responsible approach to handling animals.
· Good physical fitness and the ability to manage demanding, hands-on work.
· A full, valid driving licence.
· A reliable attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
· An understanding of the importance of animal welfare, hygiene and biosecurity.
· The flexibility to work early mornings and occasional weekends, depending on business needs.
· A willingness to learn, with full training provided.
