Exclusive Partnership: First Copy

At the end of last year we were fortunate to secure an exclusive partnership with our client, First Copy. Aimee Drayton, who has recently been promoted to Client Development Associate, had built a strong bond with the client prior to this over a 6-month period which lead to the exclusive partnership.

We spoke to Aimee to find out how the partnership came to light.

Who are First Copy? What is the company background?

First Copy is a Managed Printing Services company established in 1991. They have a team of circa 25 employees, both on-site and in the field, while the company prides itself on 95.3% fleet up time. You will find them at various exhibitions throughout the year, allowing prospects to view their products and speak with their sales team.

Additionally, First Copy is a sponsor of Bottisham’s under 14 girls football team and they take sustainability seriously with the planting of 6108 trees in 2023. With a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the company is known for its amiable approach towards clients and visitors alike.

What was the brief from the client?

First Copy had been trying to recruit a Field Sales Executive for 6 months themselves with no external support. After building relationships during that 6-month period, First Copy arranged a meeting with me to discuss us working with them as a recruitment partner. The role was permanent and offered many great benefits, including flexible working. The person they needed to match the position would be hungry for new business, have proven experience in field sales and track record of meeting KPI’s alongside a desire to be a key player within a small team.  

What was the process? Did you have any meetings with the client?

Following an onsite client meeting with Laura Hastie and Matt Bond I was able to really delve deep into both the skill set required and the type of personality that would fit well within their environment and team. Following this I was able to conduct several pre-screen interviews with potential prospects, following this thorough and rigorous process it helped me to avoid putting forward any candidates that might not have been a good fit for the role.

What was the result?

I am delighted to say that my candidate, Rory, was placed into the role following a smooth, but well-paced process. As Laura and Matt had been searching for a candidate for over 6 months, it was a very rewarding feeling to not only be able to find them find a suitable candidate, but to also help Rory find an exciting new opportunity, one that he matched perfectly.
