Seeking a Purchasing Executive – Brandon

We have an exciting opportunity to join a small but friendly team within the Purchasing Department based in Brandon, Suffolk. As a Purchasing Executive you will be working in a fast environment, liaising with suppliers and internal departments therefore is it essential you have strong communication skills.

Location: Brandon, Suffolk
Salary: £Negotiable
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm
Benefits: 20 holidays + 8 bank holidays (increases over a longer period of your service), pension scheme, attendance bonus, employee suggestion scheme and annual Christmas party

The ideal candidate MUST have gained experience within a similar role and have experience of purchasing orders and processing them through a system, ideally SAGE but not essential. 

Duties include: 

  • Processing purchase orders
  • Reviewing requisitions and place orders as required
  • Releasing MRP planned orders within a timely manner
  • Managing all distribution and order documents, ensuring they are completed and filed accurately
  • Making arrangements for processing discrepant supplier items and materials
  • Maintaining the supplier database, logging any errors and updating on performances
  • Managing and updating the system SAGE with supplier information
  • Monitoring stock levels on assigned items and on any low stock
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures are being adhered too and relevant British and European standards are being met when requested
  • Reporting to the Manager regarding any potential risk to supply with suppliers
  • Supporting the team with any other general admin and purchasing duties that may be required

Skills and Experience:

  • MUST have experience of working within a Purchasing position
  • Experience of placing and processing purchase orders
  • Ideally experience using SAGE system or similar ERP or MRP system
  • IT literate – Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Professional and polite telephone manner
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly Organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Reliable/dependable
  • Relationship builder
  • Confident
