Manufacturing Process Engineer

We are looking to engage with self-motivated Process Engineers who are looking for a new challenge! This role would be suitable for candidates who have 3 – 5 years’ experience within Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing environments with knowledge and application of value stream mapping. You will have excellent problem solving skills with an analytical mindset.

To be suitable for this role you will be expected to demonstrate a flexible approach to working and a willingness to develop and in-depth knowledge of our clients products and production processes. The purpose of the role will be to gain cost reductions, improve manufacturing performance through continuous improvement projects, data analysis and procedural change.

Duties:

  • Initiate and implement changes in manufacture
  • Develop and improve production processes by introducing Lean manufacturing practices
  • Implementation of 5S and reduction of non-value add activity
  • Proactively work with Design, Manufacture, Quality and Supply Chain
  • Ensure the effective resolution of issues relating to technical, safety, quality and delivery
  • Design and build jigs, fixtures and similar hardware for production processes
  • Participate, implement, and resolve corrective actions based on root cause analysis
  • Create and maintain process work instructions and relevant documentation
  • Actively assist in the delivery of new product introduction (NPI)
  • Working alongside engineering, critically review designs for manufacture (DFM)
  • Action engineering change requests (ECR) and product support requests (PSR)

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ proven experience utilizing Six Sigma and / or Lean Manufacturing
  • Knowledge and application of value stream mapping
  • A minimum HNC / HND in manufacturing or a related discipline is desirable
  • Ability to assess and analyse situations and make effective decisions in a timely manner
  • An understanding of NPI and DFM principals and controls
  • The ability to communicate and influence across multi-disciplinary teams
  • An understanding and experience of using an ERP business system
  • Experience using a 3D CAD package such as Solid Edge would be an advantage
