We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning and Development Manager to join a public sector establishment. This role will require to be predominately based in Huntingdon with the requirement of travelling to other sites across Cambridgeshire and occasionally nationwide. You will be responsible for all individual and organisational learning and development matters whilst proactively promoting positive behaviours and cultural attitudes.

Duties:

  • Supporting and advising staff at all levels on all aspects of the learning and development function
  • Designing and delivering learning solutions, bringing external expertise in when required
  • Deliver a professional and customer focused, high quality learning and development service
  • Work alongside the organization and staff to identify development needs and implement the solutions
  • Influence and coach team members across all levels from a learning and development prospective, support their ongoing training and embed positive behavioural changes
  • Maintain current knowledge of new and emerging learning and development approaches, initiatives and issues in order to maintain a relevant service
  • Work closely with other sites to share best practice regarding learning and development
  • Hold constructive conversations with individuals and teams to identify underlying issues and then work collaboratively to solve and implement solutions
  • Plan and implement learning and development initiatives such as work programmes and specific projects ensuring they are kept within the agreed timescale, budget and to the appropriate standard
  • Recruit, manage and review team members performances with an aim to continually improve skills, knowledge, collaborative and positive working
  • Manage the Learning and Development team resources, allocation of work, setting objectives and reviewing of performances
  • Update and report to the Head of Learning and Development to ensure they are kept up to date workload of the team, overall performances and any key issues that may occur 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • MUST be CIPD level 7 qualified or equivalent professional qualification
  • Coaching qualification and full CIPD membership are desirable
  • MUST have full UK driving licence
  • Demonstrated being in a Learning and Development role at Management level
  • Strong commitment to professional development
  • Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating initiatives
  • Strong experience of engaging with and advising employees at all levels and coaching them through learning and development issues
  • Ability to build rapport and strong relationships
