Media Sales Executive


Seeking a Media Sales Executive – Sawston

Are you seeking an exciting sales opportunity in the publishing industry? Have you got strong B2B selling experience with a proven track record in winning new business? On behalf of our client based in Sawston, we are looking for a Media Sales Executive who ideally will have experience within selling advertisement and knowledge within the photo/digital industry. You will be responsible for account managing new and existing clients and maximise the magazine revenue.

Start: ASAP
Location: Sawston, Cambridgeshire
Salary: Up to £30,000 depending on experience + OTE of £6,000 – £12,000
Hours: Full time, Monday – Friday 9am – 5:30pm
Benefits: 25 days holiday per annum and auto enrolment pension


  • Proactively selling advertising space and other business activities, reaching monthly, quarterly and annual targets
  • Managing the existing client base to maximise sales opportunities
  • Calling prospective clients to establish their viability as potential advertisers
  • Account manage the existing client base to include responsibility of administration and management of advertising sales revenue
  • Reaching and planning new sales initiatives and business strategies
  • Monitoring and assessing advertising content of competitive magazines and websites
  • Maintaining and updating the database system with customer information
  • Attend meetings and other communication activities such as industry shows and events
  • Liaise with the respective Editor(s), Design and Production teams as and when required
  • Regular meetings with the Sales Director and Managing Director, providing information and reports on the sales and revenue
  • Answering incoming calls and responding to emails

Skills and Experience: 

  • Proven B2B Sales experience
  • Ideally media sales experience
  • Some knowledge of the photo/ digital industry is desirable but NOT essential
  • Track record in achieving and exceeding targets
  • Self-motivated and sales driven
  • Professional and well presented
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Confident selling skills over the phone and face to face
  • Strong organisational skills
