Seeking a ASIC Design Engineer – Cambridge 

This is a great opportunity for an innovative ASIC Design Engineer to work on new generation electronics. As a Design Engineer you will design and implement block and chip level digital designs for mixed-signal and RF integrated circuits using unique flexible technology. Due to continued success the company are expanding their R&D team of which this role will sit, working alongside colleagues from right across the company, developing new circuits and performing evaluations on fabricated flexible IC’s in their purpose-built lab.

Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Hours: 9am – 17.30pm Monday – Friday
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Duties:

  • Digital VLSI design and physical implementation, Concept and feasibility studies
  • Design of Verilog RTL blocks, Synthesis, Floor planning, place and route, timing closure
  • Insertion of DFT test structures and Design Verification
  • Product Design documentation: documenting all relevant product and design information to educate others on novel techniques and guidance on product usage
  • Product characterisation: evaluation of designs and defining, conducting and analysing data from product performance characterisation

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Masters / PhD in electronics and Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Sound knowledge of digital design tools; simulation, synthesis, floorplanning, place & route, clock tree synthesis, parasitic extraction, static timing analysis, timing closure, physical verification, power analysis, formal verification, ATPG insertion / pattern generation
  • Ability to specify, set-up and maintain the digital design flow would be advantageous
  • IC full custom design experience including schematic capture, layout editor, SPOC simulation
  • Strong skills in scritping (UNIX/ Linux, sc, tcl, perl, C etc)
  • A team player with good communication skills, experience in report writing (latex) and technical presentations
