Bethany’s First Month As Our Apprentice!

Why Apprenticeships?

Apprenticeships are a way to gain the skills, experience and knowledge that you need to go into many careers. Apprenticeships combine training, work and study. This means that you will be able to “earn while you learn”. We have recently taken on Bethany as our Apprentice, to hear her story read below.

My first month as an Apprentice…

Something about Bethany:

Bethany is our newest recruit to the hive and has joined the team to train alongside Emily Fuller (our Admin Manager). Bethany will be studying her Level 2 NVQ in Business Administration at Cambridge Regional College. Overtime Bethany will undertake tasks supporting the 6 consultants alongside with assisting with payroll on a weekly basis and providing exceptional customer service to both clients and candidates.

Bethany has only been with us since the last week in May 2019 and has already picked up majority of her job role. Bethany is a quick learner, friendly and professional. Bethany is eager to learn and is looking forward to starting her studies! Bethany wishes to be a super user on our recruitment system and to know everything about Busy Bee Recruitment.

We asked Bethany a few questions about being an Apprentice:

How was your first week at Busy Bee Recruitment? My first week has been amazing, I’ve settled in super quickly and am already loving my new role in the company! I’m picking things up fast and my confidence has grown so much already.

Why did you apply for an apprenticeship? I love the idea of gaining an additional qualification alongside starting my new career. It will give me a further understanding of how businesses work. On top of that, I am always eager to learn new things and expand my knowledge.

What does an apprenticeship mean to you? It’s a fantastic opportunity as I will be not only be studying, I will be learning on the job as well. This benefits me as I want to kick start my career.

What do you want to do when you have completed your apprenticeship? I wish to still be a part of Busy Bee and become an expert about the company. I also hope to take on more advanced tasks and continue growing my skill set.

Were you nervous to start an apprenticeship? I was nervous and excited at the same time; Its always daunting starting something new! Now I have joined Busy Bee I am very excited to start my studies.

What have you learnt so far? So far Emily has done an exceptional job of training me. I have learnt how to use the database, how to send and organise emails, how to answer the phone correctly and so much more!

What do you enjoy most about your new job? My favourite part of my new job is the atmosphere in the office; Everyone is so lovely to work with and I feel so comfortable and happy. My favourite task at the moment is formatting CV’s to send out to clients as it is an interesting task to do.

We look forward to helping and watching Bethany flourish in her dream career.

As you can see being an Apprentice is no different, except you get to “earn while you learn”. Recruiting Apprentices for your business can have such a positive impact, not only on the Apprentice but also on your staff and your business.
